The Nogales High School Mariachi Apache
This outstanding group has performed across the nation since 1996 with their leader, Mr. Gilbert Velez. They have earned many awards, grants and scholarships. We are grateful to them for enhancing the community and for supporting our Tributes for the past 3 years.
Our Mission is to Educate
The mission of the Nogales Buffalo Soldiers Legacy Association is to partner with schools and communities across the nation to educate, inform and highlight the notable accomplishments of the Buffalo Soldiers who served patriotically while subjected to oppressive and discriminatory conditions.
California State University students designed our logo.
Participation and Scholarships
We invite many student groups to participate in our annual events. Groups include mariachis, folklorico dancers, choirs, bands, ROTC, culinary, and artists of many kinds.
This student received a $500 scholarship for her outstanding research and art work
